‘My name is Hannah, and I have diabetes’
People are sympathetic. That's nice in general, but not always.

Living with diabetes means not taking things for granted.
It is a part of you 24/7, day and night, always and everywhere.
Everybody knows someone diagnosed with diabetes. In the future, the number of people with it is only set to rise. On a global scale, diabetes is taking on pandemic proportions, and in our region we are seeing the issue grow significantly.
Diabetes is one of the diseases increasing at the fastest rate across the world. Diabetes has an enormous impact on the daily life of a person diagnosed with it, as well as on the people around them. Each day represents a challenge to achieve the right balance of blood glucose values. Good diabetes management requires a personalized treatment plan that pays close attention to glucose measurement and injection technique. BD contributes towards this on a daily basis by investing in research, market research, product innovations, and education concerning injection technology for both care givers and patients.
If people with diabetes do not sufficiently manage their condition, they will not feel well and may develop complications. Diabetes kills and is the cause of significant suffering, but treating it is not prioritized enough.
BD works with teams of care givers, experts, associations, and governments to ensure the topic of diabetes is being discussed, to reveal the underlying causes, and to deliver the best possible outcomes for people with diabetes. We aim to do so both now and in the future.
This campaign is our way of drawing attention to diabetes. Hannah is not alone, and we will work every day to make the fight against diabetes manageable for Hannah and millions of other Europeans.
